Sage Shooting Range is a non-profit club that supports many types of competitive and recreational shooting activities. Located in the Mojave Desert, we have over 330 days of sunshine which makes almost every weekend perfect for shooting. 

The range is located just 20 minutes west of the City of Ridgecrest, California and is easily accessible from both Highways 395 and 14. See map for directions to facility. Both local and out of town shooters make Sage their go to range. 

Sage range is home to over 400 shooters. The range provides a facility that can be used for recreational shooting, competitive matches or instruction to support a new generation of shooting sports enthusiasts. There’s always something happening at Sage!

Because of the large land-area of our range and the fact that Ridgecrest is home to a very active, enthusiastic, and passionate shooting community, the range typically hosts 4 or more events or matches a month.

Sage range features:

• Ten pistol bays, each about 50 yards deep
• A 200-yard rifle range, also used for 5-Stand shotgun shoots or sighting in your rifle
• A 500-yard precision rifle range, made possible by shutting down the pistol bays and 100-yard rifle range

There are a number of targets in the bays available for general use. Targets include a pair of six-plate racks and other steel targets in the pistol bays. There are also steel targets for rifles at the 100-yard rifle range.

Sage range is run exclusively by volunteers who love shooting. Every month the club hosts a variety of shoots including:

• 22 Steel Challenge 
• NRL 22 Matches
• 5-Stand Shotgun
• USPSA Matches
• Trap & Skeet

You are invited to come out and participate in these matches. You will meet many enthusiastic friendly individuals at Sage. We are very family-oriented and encourage the development of the next generation of shooting enthusiast. If you are a beginner to these matches, please let us know so that we can provide you any help you need and answer questions.

In the past several years, we have been home to SoCal and regional competitions, such as the Silver Buckle Match and Silver Buckle Master Marksman Match.

Local instructors use our range for training new and improving shooters in rifle, pistol, and shotgun at multiple levels.  Several also teach CCW.  See our list of resources for names​

Sage Range is used for local community events and by local law enforcement groups including:

• Ridgecrest Police Department
• Local military personnel for recreational shooting
• Multiple Boy Scouts groups use our facility for both training and camping
• We hold multiple Women on Target events each year to introduce the shooting sports to women, by other women.

The generous grants from the Friends of the National Rifle Association make all this possible.
